You need to go to your MD and get a 10-14 day course of antibiotics asap, Doxycycline will probably be prescribed. Ticks are vectors of many diseases, not just Lyme, some are even worse.

Recent Allergic Reaction

Postby tompetrillo on Tue Mar 08, 2022 2:45 pm

On Sunday my daughter and I came to the big sur area around Boronda trail. At various points we got off the beaten track (e.g. brush contact). We both caught a few ticks, which I removed. This is not a first experience with those evil critters for either of us. We have not previously exhibited an allergic reaction to ticks. On Sunday, I broke out in hives. My daughter has exhibited similar symptoms. Clearly, we had an allergic reaction to something. Has anyone on here had such an experience and can speculate the source?

edit: I dont think it is poison oak because it appeared within a few hours of exposure, and has already started to heal.
