Haven't heard any official word re size of fire, but it is on both sides of Coast Ridge Rd. between Chalk Peak and Apple Camp. Mandatory evacuations issued for homes in the Alm's Ridge/Prewitt Ridge area.

Chalk Peak Fire

Post by bigsurkate »

At approximately 10 pm Saturday night, I got word from a neighbor about a fire in the Mill Creek drainage area. Latest reports are that the fire is spreading east from the ridge road and backing down the Mill Creek drainage. South Coast Ridge Rd. is closed to traffic at this point. At approximately 10:45 pm, the Battalion Chief put it at 15 acres.
