Also, Tom, if you haven't seen them, Cal-Trans has posted a number of great aerial shots of the watersheds. Probably not particularly helpful re trail prep, but the photos are a wonderful overview. These photos are the property of Cal-Trans.

Hi Tom,

The reserve steward, Jaime, from Hastings Reserve flew the perimeter of the fire a couple of weeks ago. Mark Stromberg has posted them on their website, http://www.hastingsreserve.org/BasinPic ... index.html.

Mark is asking for people to email him and identify the photos if they can.

Cheers,
Mark Readdie

There are Forest Service, BAER Team and other fire related personnel working in the backcountry who are taking photos with their personal cameras. I do not believe there is any prohibition against them sharing those photos with others.

Until the forest service opens up the forest, I wouldn't expect any picts. Posting pictures taken anywhere in the monterey ranger district is probably illegal, since nobody is supposed to "officially" be back there. i.e. it's evidence you "broke the rule".

The VWA Trail Crew is gearing up for a major campaign for backcountry trail repair following the 2008 fires. To make our case with prospective funders and others, photos of post fire trail conditions are needed. If such photos come your way and you are willing to share them, no strings attached, please forward them to: . Please note the location of the photos. Thanks!
