I am in favor of all public access, this seems like restricting access especially when talking about limiting camping in the dispersed car camping along the south coast. Will the coastal commission have a say in this?

Personally, I think everything is fine the way it is in terms of the backcountry self-permit system; maybe ban all campfires, and removing the hot springs at Sykes turned out to be a good idea, even though they are somewhat rebuilt. Ever since the Soberanes fire, the Ventana Wilderness has not been that crowded. Not like it used to be. It is inevitable, I guess, that one of the last bastions of backcountry freedom is about to be regulated like every other place, which will probably only work to increase visitation. Too bad...
