Is the Ventana Camp Trail Open?

I checked this report for the Ventana Camp Trail to ascertain its condition and whether it is open or closed. The report is highly ambiguous: the language I highlighted in red states the trail is "PARTIALLY OPEN"; but below that it states, in blue type, that "...the trail remains clos...

Re: Kirk Creek Trail (Highway One to Vicente Flat Camp)

Date Hiked: May 4, 2019 General Condition: Wilderness Freeway (Heavily used and well maintained) I hiked this trail on May 1 inbound to Vicente Flat and outbound on May 4th. Brush is encroaching but not badly. There were no ticks and enormous amounts of poison oak. There is one part of the trail th...

Re: Cook Springs Camp Trail

Date Hiked: June 3, 2015 General Condition: Clear (no obstacles and tread well defined) But for the requirement that the trail be "Heavily used..." I would have rated this trail a "Wilderness Freeway". At the junction of this trail and the Coast Ridge Trail there is a brand new ...

Re: Coast Ridge Trail

Date Hiked: June 3, 2015 General Condition: Passable (some brush and/or deadfalls, tread evident) The trail is clear from the trailhead at the end of the Cone Peak Road to about a half mile past the Gamboa Trail junction. Then the trail becomes only passable because the brush starts to substantiall...

The interval between the North Coast Ridge Trail and Trail Springs Camp is generally clear although brush is encroaching parts of this portion of the trail. I...

Re: Ojito Camp Trail

Date Hiked: May 5, 2015 General Condition: Difficult (brushy and/or many deadfalls, faint tread) The previous problem of finding the trailhead to this trail has now been remedied as the Forest Service (I presume) has put a sign at Ojito Saddle clearly indicating the start of this trail. Also, the i...
