Re: Backcountry hot tubs coming out.

Whose decision was it to install them in the first place? Why are they out there?

Also, maybe a permit system is not a bad idea. Many other specific areas of other wilderness areas have this due to impact. It's damage control.

Re: Albino iris

Genetic diversity and recombination of genes in flowers is interesting. You're correct, in this area I've never seen a white Douglas Iris. Maybe it's a recessive gene, like redheads in people. But this species does have a lot of hue variation, which is cool. Anyway, very nice find! P.S. have you see...

Re: Help with questions for Silver Peak Wilderness trip.

(Cruickshank trail between Buckeye trail junction and Lion's Den Camp). There was a slide at one part, near the large gulley past Silver Public Cam...

Re: Black Bear Scat?

Bear food, plenty of berries right now. They usually don't invade camps, but I guess it is good to be safe.

I see it on the Cruickshank trail all the time, but less on many other trails. They eat the Toyon berries

For example, my Kelty Trekker external frame pack required measuring my body, then adjusting for my torso size. In the field, you adjust the straps in a certain order. Also pack food and stove, or an...

Cattle in Silver Peak - are they there, or when?

If they still graze cattle in the wilderness, are they out now, or when?

Thanks
