Conditions reported by: Josh and Emily
Survey date: 17-FEBRUARY-2007
General: PASSABLE
Specific:
Trail is mostly in good shape with the exception of a pretty significant washout about a mile in. The trail has washed out for about 15 feet with a steep cliff on one side. Pretty sketchy if you have a pack on. Ticks were out in force. Not much encroaching brush but there were lots of bare vines that may have been poison oak and may be a problem as spring comes on.

Survey date: 13-JANUARY-2007
General: CLEAR
Specific:
The trail is quite well maintained and intact. After the ridge section the trail becomes leaf covered, so you must keep an eye out for the creek crossings (about 4-5 in all). The creek is running with nice cool water. Although cold, the creek is not frozen. The campsite at the top is in great condition with fire ring, iron cooking grill, and picnic table. At points where the trail becomes nondescript there are some apparent makeshift campsites, but there is a sign at the official campsite that appears to be relatively new. A couple of stray cans were the only trash, packed those out. Very fun little overnight esp. if you get to Arroyo Seco a bit later than you expect. Fair number of quail around if that's your thing.
