Our conservation work and wilderness stewardship of the Northern Santa Lucia is made possible by the financial support of people like yourself; folks who care deeply about the present and future of these unique and pristine wildlands, and want to do what they can to ensure their preservation as wilderness.
If you aren't already a member, please take a moment to join us in our efforts. Also please consider making use of these various other ways of supporting the protection of the northern Santa Lucia, thereby allowing us to expand our efforts to keep it wild.
Special One-Time Cash Gifts
are an easy way to make use of financial windfalls such as tax refunds, bonuses or whatever other good fortune may come your way to support wilderness protection, while at the same time receiving tax benefits. Donations can be made by simply sending a check payable to "Ventana Wilderness Alliance" to the address below.
Appreciated Assets
Personal assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual fund shares, life insurance policies, real estate, precious metals and artwork that have appreciated over the years can be donated to the VWA, thereby realizing tax benefits from the charitable donation and avoiding payment of capital gains tax.
Commemorative Gifts
A touching and appropriate way to commemorate a family member or friend might be a gift to the Ventana Wilderess Alliance in their honor. When memorial or commemorative donations are received, the VWA will notify family members of the gift with a tasteful card depicting an aspect of the wilderness.
Put the Ventana Wilderness in Your Will
An excellent and thoughtful way to make sure that the wildlands you care about are taken care of after you're gone is to remember the Ventana Wilderness Alliance with a bequest in your will.
Matching Gift Programs
Many employers support matching contribution programs that effectively double the amount of charitable donations made by their employees to qualifying organizations such as the Ventana Wilderness Alliance. Just ask your personnel office to find out if there's a matching gift program in your company. If your company does have such a program they'll give you a form to submit with your contribution to be matched, and we'll take it from there.
Corporate Giving
Many companies directly support worthy non-profit causes through a foundation or special program. If your firm or the firm you work with has such a foundation or program, please consider recommending the Ventana Wilderness Alliance as a potential grantee and notifying us of the opportunity.
