On Saturday, May 28, seven members of the VWA Trail Crew headed out from the China Camp trailhead of the Pine Ridge Trail to spend the Memorial Day weekend working on the Black Cone Trail. These seven volunteers set up shop at Venturi Camp and were joined there by two others on Sunday to bring the total work force to nine. This trip was a make-up for one that was originally scheduled in April but which was rained out - twice. The weather was unusually mild for late May, and the long days made it possible to get a lot of work done for such a short trip. A benefit of the abundant rain that caused the earlier cancellation was that the flowers were spectacular, even at this late date.
Here are a few of the photographs taken during this trip. More photos of this trip can be seen at http://www.enteric.org/activity/052805/index.htm.
