In late April of 2004 members of the VWA Trail Crew spent a full week working on the upper Pine Ridge Trail between Church Creek Divide and the Black Cone Trail junction on Pine Ridge. This area had burned during the fire of 1999, and the rampant brush regrowth over the past 4 years had rendered this scenic stretch of trail almost impassable. Using loppers, saws and immeasurable amounts of elbow grease the crew cleared the entire 4 miles of trail corridor. This segment of the important trans-Ventana Pine Ridge Trail is once again a pleasure to travel thanks to the hard work of a dedicated crew of hearty volunteers.
Unfortunately nobody on the trip remembered to bring along a camera, so there are no pictures to share. You'll just have to head out there and see for yourself.
