RE: GORDA GRAZING ALLOMENT, MILL CREEK UNIT: SCOPING COMMENTS

Dear Bruce:

Thank you for allowing the Ventana Wilderness Alliance this opportunity to comment on the proposed Mill Creek unit of the Gorda grazing allotment. It is our recommendation that grazing NOT be re-authorized on the Mill Creek unit, and that it instead be permanently retired for a variety of reasons including steepness of the terrain, recreational conflict, adjacent private property conflicts, domestic water quality concerns, potential heritage site disturbance, and negative impacts on the steelhead habitat in Mill and Kirk Creeks.
