For nearly two miles, the South Fork Little Sur River -which has been designated a Wild and Scenic Study River - carves its way through the limestone and marble that constitutes the bedrock of the area. A magnificent forest of pristine old-growth coast redwood lines its banks.
Deep within the shaded redwood groves below Pico Blanco primitive camp, a waterfall spills down to a large pool, providing a splendid respite from the summer heat.
Also included in this addition is a heavily forested area above the North Fork of the Little Sur River, boasting large redwoods and fine specimens of Douglas fir and tanbark oak.
