Big Sur Region Earth Sciences Bibliography
Compiled by Robert Zatkin, Geologist © 2002
The citations contained in this Earth sciences bibliography are constrained to work performed in the Big Sur region of central coastal California. The Big Sur region is defined as bounded on the north by the south valley wall of Carmel Valley; on the south from the mouth of San Carpóforo Creek to the confluence of Chris Flood Creek, then along the main stem of Chris Flood Creek to the coast ridge; and, on the east by the ridge line that divides surface water drainage east to the Salinas Valley and west to the Pacific Ocean.
A thank you and acknowledgement is given to Lew Rosenberg, Geologist of Tijeras, New Mexico for the following work which provided many of the citations in the bibliography:
Rosenberg, L.I., 2001, Geologic resources and constraints, Monterey County, California: A technical report for the Monterey County 21st Century General Plan Update program: unpublished report to Monterey County Environmental Resource Policy Department.
Acknowledgement is given to the County of Monterey for allowing me to use their database in constructing this bibliography.
If any user of this bibliography discovers that citations have been omitted for published works in Earth sciences concerning the Big Sur region, please email me the citation of the work for incorporation into the bibliography.
