How to get a cool avatar image

You too can get an avatar image to show up next to your name when you post to the VWA forum. Here's how:

1. Select or take a picture for your avatar image. Image file types allowed are jpg/jpeg, gif, or png.

2. Resize or crop the photo to 90 pixels by 90 pixels
Don't have photo editing software? No problem! Go to http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/ and follow the easy instructions. Remember to enter 90 pixels as the maximum size.

3. Click on the link "User Control Panel" link on the left of the screen, below the "Forums Home" link. Select the Profile tab, and the Avatar option. (see screenshot below - you can click to see a larger version.)

4. Browse to your picture on your computer, and click Submit. If you get an error message, it's probably because the file was too large, or the wrong format (see above for correct formats)
