There is primitive camping at Jolon.

https://www.militarycampgrounds.us/california/fort-hunter-liggett-primitive-campground

You could also call the base and ask specific questions. 831.386.2406.

I haven't stayed there in a long while. Last time I did I just plopped down and it was very low key. Didn't see anybody the entire time. I see campers there every now and again.

Sounds like a great Ride !
Nearest camping that I know of relative to the Indians Arroyo Seco Rd:

- Camp at Escondido Camp, or Camp along Mission/Venturi rd anywhere in the national Forest, or Ponderosa Camp along Nac-Ferg road, or at Arroyo Seco Camp ground.

I don't know of any camping near Jolon (I don't know anything about a possible campground where the Mission Rd enters Hunter Ligget at Jolon Station), but I would imagine that there could be a BLM holding nearby which could accomodate lost travelers. I see something along the "lockwood San Lucas Road" which could be interesting..(see blm site:

Hi:
Is there any current information on whether it is possible to bike on the old road from arroyo Seco thru Indians down to Memorial camp? Distance/grade/climb/ road condition? Bikes would be mountain or touring bikes with camping panniers. Destination is the cantonment area at fort hunter liggett. Also is there any camping in hunter liggett currently in the area of Jolson?
Thanks
Joe
