I was camping at Barlow the night this man went missing, and a search and rescue team (firemen at 4 am) came through, but missed my tent. Later that morning a volunteer stopped me to ask questions, and I told him what I knew. I hiked out along the Pine Ridge Trail, and certainly made some effort to see any signs that this man might have slipped off trail, none were found. Two weeks later I hiked the East Molera trail to Mt. Manuel, and it was heavily overgrown on the Mt. Manuel end---I doubt this hiker would have gone this way anyway.

Unfortunately, the latest news seems to be that it wasn't him. Still missing.

All the best on finding your Uncle Harold safely. He'll be in my thoughts and prayers. And hopefully someone who's hiking one of those trails will be able to be of assistance. All the best.
