Lymes disease is only a problem if it goes undetected for a long time. I was exposed during a backpack in Big Basin. Although I have been bitten many many times, this one hurt ALOT when I pulled it off. Sure enough a day or so later I had what is called a target lesion which looks like a bulls eye..solid red at in the center with concentric rings around it. The doctor in the ER called the staff over to see it because he said it was a classic example of an exposure. Glad it was on my leg! Low grade antibiotics took care of the issue with no problems at all.
