I’m considering hiking the Lucia Trail as far as Bluff camp, starting from Arroyo Seco, next week, but I can’t find any info on trail conditions or even the actual route from that end. Is Santa Lucia Road the name of the trail or is that something different? I have a Garmin gps and Garmin’s Topo 2008 but it seems to be slightly altered from the 1927 topo map I have. Any help would be appreciated.
My alternate plan is to hike from the Indians to Cook springs then take the ridge trail out to Lost Valley. I used to camp at Lost Valley a lot until some guy showed up with a dozen people he was teaching to backpack and it kind of killed it for me. Have you ever hiked the ridge trail? I haven’t done it in a few years but it was decent the last time I was up there. I was planning on spending a night at that little seasonal creek up there if there is water. I’m guessing there still will be. Any info on current trail conditions on this route would be great.
