Vicente Flat Trail Work

Dedicated Trail Workers, here's your perfect excuse to get out and
enjoy the great weather that's lined up for next week - We're have
another trail work event!

The best part of all - it's Free!

The weather is slated to be perfect for this Friday-Tuesday Trip! If
you can just stay the weekend, that's fantastic too. We'd rather have
you out for a weekend or a day than not see you at all.

We'll meet at the top of Nacimiento Ferguson road - at the Cone Peak
Road turnout - at 8:00am on Friday, March 21st. Cone Peak Road is
currently OPEN. If you arrive late or on a different date, we'll be
working on the Vicente Flat Trail - If you think you might come in
when we'll be down the trail, let me know and we'll flag the trailhead
for you to make it easy to know where to stop. The sign is a bit hard
to see from the direction you'll be coming in.

You'll have a couple of options as far as camping. Several people
will be staying at an informal camp that is before Vicente Flat Camp,
and that camp has water and redwoods. Or, you can car camp wherever
you want. Or, you can just join us for the day!

There is no water on Cone Peak Road, so be sure to bring in enough
water for however long you are planning on staying.

The trail down to the informal camp is steep, but Mike has been
working really hard to clean off all the Poison Oak off of that trail,
so that risk has been minimized, and we've also been able to do a lot
of tread work, so the trail is really quite nice for the first mile.
And we need your help to make the whole trail better!

As ever, our Saturday night potluck appetizers will be the talk of the
town. Each time we have one, the sumptuous feast seems to get bigger
and better, with foods from around the world. Interestingly enough,
Trader Joes seems to get a lot of business from our events.

In any case, RSVP Prior to 10pm Monday the 17th to reserve your spot.
I think I'd like to have 12 people on this trip, so we currently have
about 6 spots available.

You'll need to bring/wear, long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots,
sunblock, gloves, your favorite poison oak remover, safety glasses.
We can provide the helmets and tools. If you don't have gloves or
glasses, no worries, I have spares you can borrow.

Don't Delay, Do It Today!

Also, time spent doing trail work shall not be deducted from your life!
