Ventana Camp is Before Barlow Flats.

I think Brian meant to say "You might want to only go as far as Ventana Camp." This is because if you are hiking from the trailhead at the Big Sur ranger station, then Ventana Camp is before Barlow Flats. Ventana Camp is a really, really lovely site.
