Another option is go a little further south on Highway one and hike the Vicente Flat Trail. It is 5.5 miles to a beautiful campground. The trailhead is right across the road from Kirk Creek Campground which is perched on a marine terrace, right above the ocean. There are trails down to the beach or you could drive to some of the beaches a short distance away.
