All, come take advantage of the Holiday on Jan 16th (for those who get it off) and join us on another Arroyo Seco trail maintenance trip. This trip is also ideal for people who just want to work the weekend too, because it's only about 3-4 miles in - on Wilderness Freeway trail :)
In any case, I'm cautiously optimistic that the good weather will continue through January, and we'll be able to once again work on the middle portion of the Arroyo Seco trail. Will we finish it? If we get 11 people again - or more - we just might be able to!
The current plan is to camp at a dry camp past the slide, really close to where the work is. But I hear you saying, "Dave, what if there are too many people? What if it rains? What if the river is too high?" No worries mate! We have backup plans in place, including alternative camp sites, an alternative work site, and/or an alternative portion of this trail to work on if necessary.
So, while the threat of significant rain for four days will definitely cancel this trip, we should be able to figure out something for those intrepid explorers who desire a wilderness experience.
Sign up early and often! Come join in the wonder of the Saturday night potluck! See what all the talk is about!
What you need - Boots that cover your ankles, gloves, long pants, long sleeve shirts, enough food and fuel to feed yourself for however long you'll be joining us. Bring your favorite tools - or let me know what you need and I'll bring it. Come self contained with cold weather gear.
Bring current registration, proof of Insurance, and ID for everyone in your car. FHL was on a higher than normal alert last week.
Email me at dknapp1@gmail.com and I'll put you on the List! We always have a good time, and somehow manage to accomplish a fair amount of work at the same time.
