About six years ago I went up the San Antonio River for the forest service to investigate why the river went muddy and killed of most of the trout. When we got to San Antonio Camp, the flow coming in from the creek running from Avilla Ranch was extremely muddy- a large slide had occurred on the ranch. The river remained muddy for about four weeks before it finally cleared up.
